GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE (Ch. 23, v. 50). First side and lit [choir/candle]. Concerning the Burial and Resurrection of our Lord JESUS CHRIST.

And behold, [there was] a man named Joseph, who was a councillor (*naxarar*), a good and righteous man. He had not consented to their counsel and to their deeds; [he was] from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who himself also was awaiting the kingdom of God. He approached Pilate [and] asked for the body of Jesus. And having taken Him down, he wrapped Him in a shroud (*pastarakal*) and laid [Him] in a hewn tomb, wherein no one had ever yet been laid. And it was the day of the Preparation (Friday), and the Sabbath was dawning. And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after; they saw the tomb, and how His body was laid. They returned and prepared spices (*xunk*) and ointments (*iwł*), and on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
